The land was provided by Green Township and funding was accomplished through a matching funds grant from the State and contributions from the GCHA. The courts were dedicated in May of 1998 and have been maintained and improved over the years. The courts are enjoyed regularly by handball and racquetball players. The courts are named in memory of a prominent local player, Bob Caples. An annual handball tornament is held each summer drawing players from many states including Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, Missouri, Oklahoma and New York. Coaching and mentored play are available free on Saturday mornings at 9 AM in May and are open to all ages and skill levels.
